**In 1987, a woman and her children had been brutally attacked. Pervis Payne jumped to help, though when the police arrived he feared that they would think he was the attacker, which then became his reality. He has maintained his innocence for over 30 years, lives with an intellectual disability, and has no prior criminal record, and regardless of this, his execution date is set for APRIL 9TH, 2021. **Note: Executing someone with an intellectual disability is a violation of the Eighth Amendment's ban on cruel and unusual punishments.KEY FACTS:

At age 15, in 1996, Jennifer Jeffley was falsely accused of the murder of Maria Palomina, a 71-year-old who lived in the same apartment complex. She was taken into police custody without any legal guardian and was questioned for over eight hours. She was promised she could go home if she signed the typed statement that would implicate her, and upon signing, she was then charged with capitol murder at only the age of 15.Note: The legal age to be tried as an adult in Texas is 17, and yet she was still tried as an adult. She is not on death row, but she was sentenced to life in prison and may be eligible for parole after serving 40 years (by then, she'll be 55 years old). Here's what you can do for her:Sign this petition:

In 1999, at 19 years old, Julius Jones was considered the prime suspect in the murder of a businessman named Paul Howell. Eyewitnesses gave a description of the assailant, and that description did not match Julius Jones. Despite there being evidence that he did not commit this crime, and the fact that he's maintained his innocence, he's been in prison for over 20 years now and he still sits on death row in Oklahoma.KEY FACTS:

On January 4th, 2019 in Virginia, Matthew Rushin, a black autistic mechanical engineering student, went out to run an errand and never made it back home. That day he was charged with attempted murder after a collision, where he'd lost consciousness. This charge was later elevated to 2 counts of aggravated malicious wounding, which is a class 2 felony, which is equivalent to first degree murder. His loss of consciousness and disclosure that he has autism, ADHD, and a traumatic brain injury (TBI) didn't mean much of anything to those in charge of his case, despite the fact that any of these could have contributed to the accident.Note: Something called echolalia is often associated with those who are on the autism spectrum, and is something that Matthew experienced after climbing out of his vehicle. He seemed agitated, distraught, his speech was a little bit slurred, and he seemed very confused, and these reactions as well as his diagnoses weren't taken into account when it came to interpreting his responses, and instead they questioned him for hours.Despite any of this, he hadn't received medical attention after the collision, was denied bond, and was also denied access to appointments he was required due to a cyst on his brain (he needs annual MRI's). He was pressured into pleading guilty and was coerced into accepting a plea deal. Originally, he was serving a 50-year sentence, with 40 years suspended. However, as of right now, he's supposed to be released in March of 2021—but he was pardoned in November of 2020, so there is no reason for him to still be behind bars!Note: He has also tested positive for COVID-19. Because of this, in order to receive the treatment he needs, he must be released sooner. Here's what you can do for him:Sign these petitions:

In 1997, Billie Allen was wrongfully convicted of armed robbery and the murder of a security guard in Missouri. No evidence has linked him to the crime, and despite this, he was still arrested. All DNA evidence came back negative after testing, but this evidence wasn't disclosed at trial. An alibi witness was also spoken to by the FBI but the alibi was never called to court to testify. Billie Allen had actual proof of his whereabouts (at a mall miles from the crime scene), receipts to show and everything, but his attorney didn't show this evidence either. His attorney did not defend him whatsoever. He has now been convicted for 23 years and is currently on death row for a murder he did not commit.KEY FACTS:

In 1991, Rocky Myers' neighbor was murdered in her home. Another man who lived locally had originally been incriminated for the murder, but an affidavit that implicated someone else (Rocky) was handed in. He was then convicted of capital murder without any forensic evidence whatsoever, and no history of violence. He was originally going to be given a life sentence, but the judge then overruled the jury and sentenced Rocky to death. (Note: This is known as judicial override.)Rocky Myers does not belong in prison or on death row. Kay Ivey, the governor of Alabama, has the power to grant him clemency. Here's what you can do for him:Sign these petitions:
Saraya Rees is 15-years-old, is mentally ill, and has been sentenced to 11 years juvenile prison for pouring gasoline on the living room carpet when she was in a state of psychosis. Her parents contacted Coos Health & Wellness for assistance, and the wellness center, instead of sending trained mental health advisors, called the police. She was arrested and questioned without her parents or a lawyer present, was coerced into making statements (when still in a state of psychosis) that would later be used against her, and then she was then charged with attempted murder and assault. By the time she's eligible for parole, she will be 25 years old. There is no reason for her to be in prison. Mental illness is not a crime.KEY FACTS:
